Pascal Siakam was born on April 2, 1994, in Douala, Cameroon. His father, Tchamo Siakam, was a local politician who supported Pascal’s education and initially had aspirations for him to become a priest. Pascal’s journey to professional basketball began relatively late compared to many of his peers.
Discovered at a basketball camp in Cameroon, he moved to the United States to play college basketball at New Mexico State. His relentless work ethic and rapid development led to him being selected by the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft.
